Parking on the north side of Salem (3rd Ave) continues to be problematic for those living in that area. People attending worship at Salem have continued to block their driveways when parking. We can not block driveways in any way when parking on the street. This has been posted in the announcements in the past and there has been a sign on the north door, but it continues to happen. These are valid complaints as photos have been shared. The owners do not want vehicles ticketed, but if this continues, vehicles will get ticketed.
Walker: Is anyone missing a walker? It was sitting by the north door for several weeks. It is now by the office if anyone is looking for it.
Volunteer Opportunity: Urban Servant Corps, an ELCA ministry partner located in Denver, Colo., offers one-year, fulltime experiences for young adults to live in community in downtown Denver while serving as volunteers at nonprofit organizations that work with low-income and at-risk populations. Food, housing, health insurance, a monthly stipend and an annual “growth and development” allotment are provided. Additionally, spiritual direction, alumni mentorship, and professional development opportunities are offered as part of this experience. To learn more and apply, visit www.urbanservantcorps.org
Church Basement Ladies: Cedar Summerstock Theatre Company will be performing this musical comedy at the Cedar River Complex-Krapek Family Fine Arts Center in Osage IA (809 Sawyer Drive) on June 29, June 30, July 1, July 15, July 20 and July 21 at 7:00pm or July 2 & July 16 at 1:00pm. Call 641-390-3155 or email at carrieb.cst@gmail.com to reserve seats for your group. 20% discount for groups 10 or more, reserved seating, dress like a church basement lady and get your name entered into a drawing for CST gifts.
