Christmas Program: Our Faith Formation kiddos will present their Christmas Program on Sun. Dec. 15th during the 9:00am service with a Birthday Party for Jesus in the Fellowship Hall after the program. Everyone is Welcome!
Christmas Caroling: Please join the Salem Confirmation Students for Christmas Caroling. It’s fun to share Christmas cheer with others and as always, the more the merrier! Everyone is invited and welcome to join in. Lyrics will be provided. We will meet at 5:30pm on Wed., Dec. 18th, in the Fellowship Hall and then car-pool to the care center, assisted living and other community members’ homes. Dress warm and bring a flashlight if you have one. After caroling we will gather for hot chocolate and goodies in the Fellowship Hall. If you would like to join us, please call the office so we can plan ahead (if we have enough people, we can split into 2 groups, and make a route for each group to follow). If you know of someone who needs some Christmas cheer, please call the office. 592-1771

Goodies: The Board of Youth is asking for donations of goodies for the Christmas Carolers to enjoy, along with hot chocolate after Caroling on Wed, Dec. 18th. There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex. Please have them in the Fellowship Hall by 6:30pm that day.
Toys For Tots: We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys until December 10th. for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The collection box has been set out across from the church office. After collection, they will distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
LAKE MILLS CLOTHES FOR KIDS 2024: Let’s Clothe Our children. Donations will be distributed throughout the Lake Mills Community School District to children ages birth to 18. What to do: Pick a Christmas Tag (with a child’s needs/sizes on it) from the electronic sign-up or from the tree here at Salem, then purchase the items on the child’s tag, wrap in one box, attach the original tag to the gift, and deliver it to the Salem office by Friday, December 13th. Tag availability: Electronic tags starting November 16th and physical tags by November 29th.

Monetary donations are accepted at FTSB and MBT Banks of Lake Mills.
Once again, this year each child’s requests have been divided into two tags. One for clothing and the other for shoes and socks. This is an effort to keep costs affordable for the givers and be able to provide for the child’s needs.

Faith Formation Volunteers Needed: The Youth Board is making weekly plans for music, activities, games and crafts, BUT…we need YOUR HELP to make this year a success! Please consider donating your time to supervise and interact with our children. There is a signup sheet on the bulletin across from the chapel. No planning or experience necessary, a youth board member will be leading.
Prayer Chain Ministry is a network of people who are committed to prayer and will take action on behalf of others. If you will pray for those in need, sign-up in the Narthex to be notified by either email, text or phone. If you or someone you know is in need of prayer, call the office and the prayer request will get sent out. If there is no answer, leave a message. All requests will be confidential among the prayer chain ministry. Call the office with prayer requests. Thank you!
Prayer Shawls, hand knit or crocheted by Salem members, are available in the Narthex for you to wrap someone in need. A Prayer Shawl is for anyone in need of prayer, hope, comfort and love of a community. If you would like the person included in the prayer chain, please call the office.

The Lake Mills Food Shelf is open 2:00-5:00pm every Monday for anyone in need of additional food. The only criteria for eligibility is to reside within the Lake Mills School District. The Food Shelf is now located at Salem and can be accessed at the south entrance. Anyone in need of food when the food shelf is not open; please feel free to call and leave a message at 641-592-1771 and someone will get back to you.
Salem’s Clothes Closet is open every Monday from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Salem’s south entrance. Clothes, shoes, boots, coats, jackets and a few other kids items are available for free. We also accept donations; they can be left inside the south entrance anytime. We ask that donations are folded and have no holes, tears or stains.
Collections: We collect pop tabs, eyeglasses and receipts from David’s Marketplace and Hy-Vee. The WELCA group receives 1 tenth of 1% of all receipts collected from David's; this can really add up and help! The Hy-Vee receipts go towards a cure for cancer. The baskets for all of these are in the Narthex. Please do not roll the receipts and keep David's separate from Hy-Vee. Thank you!
Membership List: When looking at the membership list in the Annual Report, if you notice that any of your family members information needs to be updated, please let the office know. If your family member has moved and joined another church, please remind them to contact the office to transfer membership so that we can have an accurate membership list. 641.592.1771
