“Healthy Iowa Kids” Summer Food Program: The Lake Mills Food Bank will be participating in the State’s “Healthy Iowa Kids” summer food program. ELIGIBILITY: Households with children age 4-18, meeting the guidelines for the State of Iowa Free and Reduced meals or the income requirements of the Lake Mills Food Shelf. WHEN/WHERE: Mondays from 2-5 p.m. at the Lake Mills Food Bank (South entrance of Salem). Regular Food Shelf items are also available each Monday from 2-5 p.m. Residents of the Lake Mills School District who meet income guidelines are eligible for these items.
Volunteers Needed: The Healthy Iowa Kids summer food program will need its own volunteers, separate from those working at the food shelf. Volunteers are needed for distribution on Monday, June 16th, starting at 1:00pm and every Monday throughout the summer. Volunteer as many times as you want. Please consider helping this group as they are trying to ensure kids have food to eat at home throughout the summer months. If you can help, please contact Marci. Thank you!! 641-590-1182
WORSHIP UNDER THE ELM TREE!!! WHEN: Sunday, June 15th at 9:00 am. DETAILS: Pastor Steve Smith presiding. Folding chairs and some lawn chairs will be available. Livestream will not be available. Worship will be broad-cast Facebook live. In the event of weather, worship will be moved to the Sanctuary. Coffee Fellowship after worship. --Board of Music and Worship
Prayer Chain Ministry is a network of people who are committed to prayer and will take action on behalf of others. If you will pray for those in need, sign-up in the Narthex to be notified by either email, text or phone. If you or someone you know is in need of prayer, call the office and the prayer request will get sent out. If there is no answer, leave a message. All requests will be confidential among the prayer chain ministry. Call the office with prayer requests. Thank you!
Prayer Shawls, hand knit or crocheted by Salem members, are available in the Narthex for you to wrap someone in need. A Prayer Shawl is for anyone in need of prayer, hope, comfort and love of a community. If you would like the person included in the prayer chain, please call the office.

If you are willing to usher, acolyte, serve communion, read or sing in the liturgical choir, please sign up in the Narthex or call the office. We also have forms in the Narthex. Please return forms to the office. (We are charged a much lower service fee through the Simply Giving Program)
The Lake Mills Food Shelf is open 2:00-5:00pm every Monday for anyone in need of additional food. The only criteria for eligibility is to reside within the Lake Mills School District. The Food Shelf is now located at Salem and can be accessed at the south entrance. Anyone in need of food when the food shelf is not open; please feel free to call and leave a message at 641-592-1771 and someone will get back to you.
Salem’s Clothes Closet is open every Monday from 2:00-4:00pm at Salem’s south entrance. Clothes, shoes, boots, coats, jackets and a few other kids items are available for free. We also accept donations; they can be left inside the south entrance anytime. We ask that donations are folded and have no holes, tears or stains.
Collections: We collect pop tabs, eyeglasses and receipts from David’s Marketplace and Hy-Vee. The WELCA group receives 1 tenth of 1% of all receipts collected from David's; this can really add up and help! The Hy-Vee receipts go towards a cure for cancer. The baskets for all of these are in the Narthex. Please do not roll the receipts and keep David's separate from Hy-Vee. Thank you!
Membership List: When looking at the membership list in the Annual Report, if you notice that any of your family members information needs to be updated, please let the office know. If your family member has moved and joined another church, please remind them to contact the office to transfer membership so that we can have an accurate membership list. 641.592.1771
Copies of the April/May/June Christ in our Home, Bulletin, Council Minutes, Announcements and Annual Report are available on a cart between the doors at Salem's south entrance. The outer door is unlocked, they are just inside the door.
