Thank You to all that contributed goodies to the Youth Board Bake Sale! It was a successful event with $800 raised which will help Tori Holtan and Kaylie Sylvara on their upcoming mission trip this July to Llano, TX.

Sunday, April 26 will be the last day of Faith Formation, and we plan to do a service project. Everyone is welcome to join us after worship as we will be picking up trash in the Lake Mills area (all supplies provided).  At 11:00am, we will return to Salem and enjoy the Annual BBQ Lunch provided by the Stewardship Board.  Everyone in the congregation is invited to the BBQ Lunch.  

Faith Statements: On Wednesday, April 29th five confirmation students will present their Faith Statements in the sanctuary beginning at 5:30 pm.  This is an important milestone in their faith journey.  Everyone is invited to witness as they take this next step towards confirmation on Sunday May 3rd.

Confirmation Sunday will be May 3rd this year. The Board of Youth & Education will host a reception in the Fellowship Hall following worship.

Baccalaureate will be held at Salem this year, May 13 at 7:00pm. The Board of Life & Growth will host a reception in the Fellowship Hall following worship.

Adult Bible Study:  Just a reminder that we have a Bible Study here at Salem, Wednesdays—10am—in the Choir Room. Pastor Everist leads this bible study.  All are invited and welcome! “The Gospel of John: Trust Jesus & Live”

Sunday, April 26 will be the last day of Faith Formation, and we plan to do a service project. Everyone is welcome to join us after worship as we will be picking up trash in the Lake Mills area (all supplies provided).  At 11:00am, we will return to Salem and enjoy the Annual BBQ Lunch provided by the Stewardship Board.  Everyone in the congregation is invited to the BBQ Lunch.  

Vacation Bible School: “VBS” will be held at Winnebago Lutheran Church. June 1-4. “Snowball Mountain Challenge” “Find Your Strength in God”.  Prayerfully consider volunteering to help—whether one day or all 4 days!  Call One in Christ Parish if you would like to volunteer. 641-567-3550
 
VBS Crafts: Please start collecting the following items for the Vacation Bible School Crafts: clean Gatorade bottles with cap, 3/4” black buttons. You can leave these items in the Narthex.  Thank you!

"14th Annul Tractor Ride:  One in Christ Lutheran Parish & Trinity Lutheran (Mason City) will have a Memorial Tractor Ride for Darold "Smokey" Kloster on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Everyone is invited to participate in this event. Money raised will help Smokey's son, Mike Kloster, with rehab costs after his stroke.  More details coming...


Auto Giving: Would you like to increase your giving this year with the Simply Giving program or start Auto Giving (ACH withdrawals)? Please contact the office and leave a message 641.592.1771 (save a check & save an envelope)
 
Offering Envelopes: If you would like to save Salem the cost of sending you offering envelopes, you can let the office know to stop sending them and use any envelope you wish and simply write your name on the envelope.

-- Give through PayPal or Card by going to www.salemlakemills.com and clicking the donate button at the bottom of the page.
-- Give automatically through the Simply Giving Program.  Sign up for weekly or monthly ACH withdrawals. Call the office to have a form sent to you or stop by the office.  We also have forms in the Narthex. Please return forms to the office.   (We are charged a much lower service fee through the Simply Giving Program)


Volunteers: We are creating a list of Salem members who would like to do some home visits to members requesting a visit.  Take one of the devotional booklets with you and have a word of prayer at the end of your visit.  Sign up sheet is in the Narthex, or call the office.   -Board of Life & Growth
 

Home visits: We are creating a list of people who may be more homebound and would like a visit with one of our Salem members.  If you know of someone, let them know we are doing this and call the church office or sign up in the Narthex. 641-592-1771. Prayer Chain Ministry is a network of people who are committed to prayer and will take action on behalf of others. If you will pray for those in need, sign-up in the Narthex to be notified by either email, text or phone. If you or someone you know is in need of prayer, call the office and the prayer request will get sent out.  If there is no answer, leave a message. All requests will be confidential among the prayer chain ministry.  Call the office with prayer requests.  Thank you!

Prayer Shawls, hand knit or crocheted by Salem members, are available in the Narthex for you to wrap someone in need. A Prayer Shawl is for anyone in need of prayer, hope, comfort and love of a community. If you would like the person included in the prayer chain, please call the office. 641.592.1771

Worship Volunteers Needed: We are in need of worship volunteers!  If you are willing to usher, acolyte, serve communion, read or sing in the liturgical choir, please sign up in the Narthex or call the office.  If you would like to learn how to help with sound, monitors or live stream, call the office. 641.592.1771

The Lake Mills Food Shelf is open 2:00-5:00pm every Monday for anyone in need of additional food.  The only criteria for eligibility is to reside within the Lake Mills School District.  The Food Shelf is now located at Salem and can be accessed at the south entrance.  Anyone in need of food when the food shelf is not open; please feel free to call and leave a message at 641-592-1771 and someone will get back to you.
 
Salem’s Clothes Closet is open every Monday from 2:00-4:00pm at Salem’s south entrance.  Clothes, shoes, boots, coats, jackets and a few other kids items are available for free. We also accept donations; they can be left inside the south entrance anytime.  We ask that donations are folded and have no holes, tears or stains.

Collections:​ We collect pop tabs, eyeglasses and receipts from David’s Marketplace and Hy-Vee.  The WELCA group receives 1 tenth of 1% of all receipts collected from David's; this can really add up and help!  The Hy-Vee receipts go towards a cure for cancer.  The baskets for all of these are in the Narthex.  Please do not roll the receipts and keep David's separate from Hy-Vee.  Thank you!

Membership List: When looking at the membership list in the Annual Report, if you notice that any of your family members information needs to be updated, please let the office know.  If your family member has moved and joined another church, please remind them to contact the office to transfer membership so that we can have an accurate membership list.  641.592.1771

​Copies of the April/May/June Christ in our Home, Bulletin, Council Minutes, Announcements and Annual Report are available on a cart between the doors at Salem's south entrance. The outer door is unlocked, they are just inside the door.
