| HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK AT DCLA! ~Seeing Golden Gate Bridge - Laura Fjelstad ~Big room worship - Alyssa Hugo ~LAB groups/meeting new people - Kayla Nelson ~Worship and jamming out to all the concerts especially Salvador and TobyMac - Chalsea Harmon ~Big room worship; seeing Jacob talk - Derek Harmon ~Everything!! But mainly the Big Room - Molly McDonald ~I loved the "Big Room" time. Like Chals, I loved "jamming" out to TobyMac, Salvador, and Souljahz! I loved to meet new people in the Lab. It's always fun! - Michelle McDonald ~The Big Room Concerts. TobyMac was the best - Brett Nickson ~I was blown away by the Big Room Worships - feeling the power behind all those people pouring out their love of God in song and praise. To hear 3000 voices at once is awesome, and to know that despite all our differences, we all worship one God. - Amy Olson One of my highlights was the Big Room worship - it was awesome to see so many kids pouring out their hearts and souls worshipping Jesus. I also really enjoyed the speaker at the Deeper Session about reaching the unchurched in a culture like ours. It was really fun and interesting - Katie Olson ~Going to 6-flags - Tyler Tweeten ~The first night with the TobyMac concert rocked! It was so exciting to hear that there is more to Christian music then Hymns! - Nicky Sletten ~Getting to know people in my lab group - Charlie Rognes ~Rebecca St James in the Big Room - Dennis Rognes ~I don't know if I can pick one specific highlight. The Big Room was awesome, especially the night they talked about the crucifixion. It was so powerful and emotional. The concerts were awesome, especially TobyMac and Souljahz. It's cool to hear different kinds of Christian music and feel all the energy in the room, knowing they're all there for the same reason - to share and learn about God! - Jessica Peterson ~Seeing the amount of people openly share their faith during the Big Room was a highlight. Also staying with my aunt and uncle was awesome. - Emily Georgia ~I really liked the Big Room. The speakers were so cool! I especially liked Laurie. - Vera Mannes ~I really enjoyed the LAB, I had an awesome group. I also liked TobyMac. - Lynette Lee ~I liked meeting new people that were open to share the faith. - Joe Jamtgaard ~I liked the Reliant K concert!! - Jess Colby ~The highlight for me was the final Big Room. It was a really great experience to listen to their story of the crucifixion of Jesus. The other highlight was the Rebecca St. James and TobyMac concert. - Jill Anderson ~I talked at the Big Room about God for Jesus' love someone. It was cool. - Jacob Tweeten ~Too many to count. Great music. Great Bible study. A great week. - Pastor D SOMETHING I HEARD OR LEARNED AND WANT TO SHARE.... ~I learned how important it is to share your faith - Alyssa Hugo ~Skills to better listening - Kayla Nelson ~How to share your faith while still keeping your friends (not being too pushy) - Chalsea Harmon ~Learn more about my story, their story, and God's story - Brett Nickson ~I learned how sharing your faith with others is an important part in having a relationship with God. An awesome thing I heard was when they said, "People listen to people who listen." That just sounded...cool. - Michelle McDonald ~Too numerous to begin to list all I learned - I discovered that I want and need to strengthen my connection with Jesus, and doing so let the love that he gives to me "overflow" into all that I encounter. I also pray that I can live my faith (be real) and to share and invite others to know the saving grace of God. - Amy Olson ~I learned that I need to be real in order to witness to others I need to be the real me. I also realized that we need to ask God to give us the love to love others. That's something that's very hard, almost impossible on our own. Jesus is our spiritual food and we need to feed off of him every day. - Katie Olson ~Sharing your faith can be done many different ways. - Tyler Tweeten ~I learned that Christianity is not one of those "sit back and watch religions" but that it's a "go in and get your hands dirty religion." To serve others is to worship God. - Nicky Sletten ~I learned to listen more then talk and also to ask questions without question marks. - Charlie Rognes ~ "Three Story" Evangelism, connecting 'My story', 'God's Story', and 'Their Story' - Dennis Rognes ~I learned so much this week. I realized to share your faith you don't have to be pushy and "preach" but just be REAL. I also learned there's lots of different wants people praise and share about God, and so many stories - we need to share and more important LISTEN to people about God and his/their/our story! I also realized the adults are so much FUN to be around;) - Jessica Peterson ~That when you share your faith with someone you expect them to totally agree right away. - Emily Georgia ~I learned that with this trip I never realized how much I love Jesus. In the Big Room, I really connected with Jesus like never before. I'd definitely recommend this trip to everyone! - Molly McDonald ~I learned that God is someone that you have to have a relationship with, and having a relationship with him isn't the same as just simply knowing him. - Jess Colby ~I learned many things during the DCLA conference. I learned more about the relationship between Jesus and all of us, and how that relationship can be strengthened. - Jill Anderson ~ I learned at the conference Lab to tell each other about God's relationship, for DCLA. It was a great time, it's all cool. - Jacob Tweeten ~I was reminded that we have a great group of kids. I was reminded, and they were reminded, that we have a great God. We were all reminded that we have a great story to share - and neighbors who are hungry for what only God can give. - Pastor D |
