SUNDAY SCHOOL

Christian education comes alive as more than 100 youth attend Sunday School at Salem Lutheran Church each week. Four year olds through eighteen year olds strengthen their biblical knowledge through Bible study, prayer, memorization, praise and worship, and small group discussion.

We are presently using the Rotation Model to help our 2nd through 6th graders learn the Bible. This model of Sunday School is a series of "stations" that students rotate through. In these stations the students do specific projects related to a Bible story. Our stations include: Noah's Art - where children do an art project related to the story, Holy Word Theater - children watch a video about the focus story and discuss it, Sunday morning Live - this is the drama room. In this room students do a skit related to the Bible story, Bible Quest is our story telling room and Solid Rock Café is where the students make a food item related to the story. This Sunday school program seeks to be incarnational. It puts "flesh" on the Word of God. The students are encouraged to apply Biblical principles to their everyday living.

Our pre-k through 1st graders are presently using the Hands On Material. Once again students are taught to apply Biblical principles to the everyday choices they make in their lives.

The Sunday school year begins in September with a "Rally Sunday Kick-Off" and continues through mid-May, Meeting from 9:35 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Join us in this incredible faith-building experience!
