SALEM LUTHERAN CHURCH COUNCIL - SPECIAL MEETING
The Salem Church Council met on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the Lounge.

The board members present were Don Aamodt, Tami Alphs, Scott Helgeson, Jerry Hoffman, Deb Kingland, Jennifer McGrady, Jenelle Pierce for Bob Peterson, Wanda Playter, Gaye Sletten and David Kingland, Call Committee Chairman/Staff Management Chairman.
Missing: Rick Orban and Carolyn Swanson

President Deb Kingland called the special meeting to order. The new Salem Budget for 2007 was passed out. This was a slightly revised version of the budget approved in December after input from some congregational members. The Staff Management Team and Pastor Weeg met earlier to discuss the changes requested from congregational members and are proposing this new budget. The main changes were that the Church Administrator position was put on hold for 2007 and that the money for the Worship and Music Staff was now lumped into one amount, with the Board of Worship and Music in charge of how that money would be spent. There was much discussion on this. A motion was made by Don Aamodt and seconded by Tami Alphs to accept the new 2007 Budget. The motion was carried.
Another forum was scheduled between services on Sunday, January 21, to give people an opportunity to ask any questions they may still have.
Motion to adjourn was made by Jerry Hoffman and seconded by Jennifer McGrady. All approved.
