The board members present were Lynn Bartness, Marlys Christianson, Doug Harmon, Jennifer McGrady, Alex Rice, Cindy Haugsdal, Rick Orban, Bill Tweeten, Pastor Weeg, and Pastor Jordon. Call to Order was made by Rick Orban. Devotions and prayer were given by Pastor Weeg.

Secretary’s Report: Each council member individually read the secretary’s report. The report was received and filed.
Communication and Correspondence: None.
Treasurer’s Report: Bill Tweeten reported the following balances for February 29, 2008:  MBT checking $35,346.79, MBT Principal $85,394.87, General Fund Balance $193,647.85. He also suggested putting something together for the bulletin which explains the status of the budget to be put in every week.
Financial Secretary’s Report: No report.

BOARD REPORTS:
Board of Worship and Music:
Cindy Haugsdal reported on the Seder demonstration which was held March 8, 2008 at 5:30 PM. She also reported on Holy Week. The choir will be singing at 8:30 service on Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and at the 8:30 and 10:30 service on Easter Sunday. There will be special music by the Sunday school children on Mother’s day at both services. They are working on filling usher positions. She also discussed some concern which has been expressed about how the offering is handled and deposited by those who usher. The discussion was tabled until next meeting.
Board of Stewardship and Social Ministry:
Lynn Bartness discussed the 17 steps to stewardship basics from the ELCA stewardship website and how we are doing some of them but could also benefit from implementing some new ways to increase giving and promotion of using our time and talents in the church.
Board of Education:
Marlys Christianson reported on the Lenten suppers which have been a great success. She discussed vacation bible school and hopefully getting more volunteers this year. First communion will be on Maundy Thursday for the 5th graders. The Ham Ball Sales fundraiser is going very well with order deadline being March 12th.  Plans are also being made for the 9th Grade Confirmation on May 4th, as well as their Retreat on April 19-20, and Faith Statement Night on April 30 which the Council is invited to attend. 
Board of Youth:
Alex Rice reported plans for the Easter breakfast. He also discussed how the youth are outgrowing the youth room because of large attendance. There is a need for a vision group to discuss where to go from here with the expanding youth program. The young families group is an awesome thing for the youth to be helping with each month.
Board of Life and Growth:
Planning for the Women’s retreat which is scheduled for March 29, 2008 is going well.
Board of Property and Management:
Rick Orban reported the ongoing expense of the boilers. The new locks should be in by next month’s meeting.

Motion to adjourn by Jen McGrady and seconded by Lynn Bartness. Meeting adjourned early due to time restraints getting to Lenten services.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
