The Treasurer's Report was given by Doug Bruhns. As of March 31, 2005 we have a balance of $ 4,828.74. Doug mentioned we have been keeping up with our payments however we have not paid back any loans we have borrowed and we are coming into the summer months which are generally slower. He would like to have a committee formed to look over our financial situation and discuss solutions. A motion was made by Linda Rasmusson seconded by Don Aamodt to accept these reports.

Board Reports:
Board of Worship and Music:
Deb Kingland reported the board is purchasing a piano dolly with memorial money to help with moving the piano. The board is planning a class for new ushers and communion servers for this summer. Synod Assembly weekend, June 10-12, the board will be seeking a lay person to conduct the services.

Board of Education: Pastor Mackey reported final Sunday School plans are being discussed for this season. There will be an international day for July Jubilee. Vacation Bible School is scheduled for June 6-9 at Winnebago.

Board of Youth: Deb Bachman reported that 22 junior high students participated in the famine. Youth Alpha is going well with 10-15 students involved. The Easter breakfast raised $600 this year.

Board of Life and Growth: Linda Rasmusson reported the parish wide camp out at Clear Lake is scheduled for June 24-26. Linda presented the recommendation from her board for the new member procedure in joining Salem. It will be voted on at the next meeting.

Board of Property and Management: Sue Smith reported no tuck pointing is needed at this time. The board will be working on exterior trim painting and stump removal on the grounds. The stained glass window project will be in progress soon.

One In Christ Parish Council: Deb Kingland reported the board looked over the evaluation sheets from each church. It was noted the smaller churches have enjoyed more opportunities given due to the parish. The most common concern expressed from Salem was the financial difficulty we have been experiencing. After much discussion it was agreed upon by the council to have our representatives bring to the parish council our thoughts that continuing will require some changes in how the parish is funded, and also efforts to avoid duplication of efforts with the One In Christ Parish.

Motion was made by Dianne Gardner and seconded by Deb Kingland to accept these reports.

Old Business: none

New Business: Synod Assembly is scheduled for June 10-12 at Luther College. Pastors Dykstra and Mackey and Deb are attending. Contact the Pastors if interested in being a delegate. The July Jubilee committee is asking for area congregations to donate $20 to co sponsor the Saturday evening celebration to include "Music with Meaning." A motion was made by Doug Bruhns and seconded by Don Aamodt to donate $20.00. A motion was made by Dianne Gardner and seconded by Deb Kingland to accept Paul Schroader as a member of Salem. Transfers: Mark and Sylvia Gulick, Jackie Imler to Asbury.

The next meeting will be held Thursday, May 12, 2005. A motion to adjourn was made by Dianne Gardner and seconded by Doug Bruhns.

We closed with silent prayer for our prayer partners and the Lord's Prayer.
